How does an idea become a law?

What does a legislator do?
1) They are elected by their districts. This means that they are always help accountable by their constituents. If you don't do a good job, somebody else will get elected.
|
2) They write and vote on different pieces of legislation. In this video, Rep. Garlick is talking about a bill that placed limits on the number of patients that a nurse has to take care of in a hospital. While it is a little confusing, Rep. Garlick is presenting on her experiences, why she helped write this legislation and why she helped it pass in the House.
|
3) They make sure they go back to their districts and report on their work. While the work that they do for the whole Commonwealth is important, their primary role is to represent the people of their towns.
